Dickinson-based nonprofit prepares students for life beyond graduation
Although La Marque High School students this week finished their final Higher Up Texas class, their time with the program is far from over.
Since Higher Up Texas — a nonprofit focused on teaching teens and young adults professional development and life skills — formed in 2019, its post-graduation group has continued to grow.
“We’ve evolved and matured and I am so proud of every step of the way,” Chief Executive Officer Hillary Gramm said. “We started in 2019 with seniors in high school, and it was never intended to really fully be this post high school program, but it happened that way because the first graduating HUT members were the class of 2020. They needed it.”
