FOR PARENTS

“She’s come a long way in a few years. The amazing program that Higher Up Texas is has contributed to the progress that she has made. We can’t thank you all enough for everything that y’all have done and taught the students to become the best young adults coming out of high school. She has a lot of ambition to do more and we have to give thanks to Higher Up Texas for that as well. She would always be so excited to come home and tell me what wonderful new things she did in the program.”

HUT Parent

Dear Parents,

Your children have been invited to participate in a unique program that will grow their minds in a way where many adults struggle. HIGHER Up Texas is a non-profit organization that will develop critical thinking skills through new ideas, experiences, and people. Critical thinking skills are valuable when looking at all sides of a situation. Our students will learn to think first, then act. They will learn to put themselves in another person’s shoes and understand and appreciate a new perspective even if it does not align with their own experiences, opinions or values.

Youth participants in the HIGHER Up Texas program will listen to special guest speakers and go on meaningful field trips around the city of Houston. Because this program brings immense value to the future leaders in our community, it will be of no cost to you. Tony Annunziato and Rick Gornto, Founders of HIGHER Up Texas, place a high value on economically disadvantaged children and have hopes of broadening their world views to forever impact their adulthood outcomes.

This program will challenge the minds of the students. For their hard work and full-participation, they will receive the following:

  • Mentorship
  • Scholarship Assistance
  • Access to employers/job sites/internships
  • Contacts in their desired industry
  • Post-high school support and fellowship with HIGHER Up Texas participants

Feel free to contact any of us if you have questions. We are incredibly honored that you would share your most precious asset with our program. If you would like to be involved in our program by observing or attending one of our field trips, you are always invited, there is always room at our table.

Sincerely,

Hillary Gramm
